Peterborough, however, is unique for another reason: the ground is owned by Peterborough Council, which plans to develop it. Fans and football club are keen to retain an element of standing at the redeveloped ground, and the council are not saying no.
On our visit to London Road in September, Councillor Janet Goodwin, Cabinet Advisor to the Leader, took a good look at rail seats along with Richard Hodgson, Head of Strategic Projects, Peterborough United Chief Executive Bob Symns and others. Feedback was positive and the FSF will continue to work with all parties to try to achieve the goal of a modern, redeveloped stadium with purpose-built, safe standing facilities.
